Psychotherapy
Katharine provides quality and personalized psychotherapy for adolescents, college students, and adults in all stages of life. She works with individuals, couples, and families. She has a special interest in working with parents of adolescents and with couples. She has experience treating anxiety disorders, depression, grief and loss, stress due to major life transitions, and relational or career challenges. Katharine embraces working with LGBTQ and non-binary clients.
Insurance
Katharine is an out of network provider. This means that she is not in network with any insurance plan. She encourages her clients to ask about their plan's "out of network" benefits and she can provide clients with a "superbill" that they can then submit to their insurance company.
Approach
Katharine uses psychodynamic and attachment theories to ground her practice with clients. She has post-graduate training in Bowen Family Systems Theory, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Imago Relationship Therapy which she also utilizes in her work. She believes that all people are doing the best that they can and that all of us strive to do better. The change process requires personal courage, accountability, and consistency.
Using models of acceptance and change, Katharine works with clients to learn effective mindfulness, self-regulation and relational skills. She aims to create a space that is both supportive and thought provoking, encouraging her clients to try new things, view their problems through a new lens, take healthy risks, and ultimately thrive in their lives
