Katharine's Story

Prior to opening her own private practice, Katharine worked at Comprehensive Mental Health Services in Pennington. She has experience working in schools, universities, and mental health agencies in Princeton, Philadelphia, and New York.

After graduating from Brown, Katharine earned an MFA from NYU's Graduate Acting Program. She went on to work as an actor in film, television, and theater. Katharine's acting career includes working on Broadway, off-Broadway, and at premiere regional theaters throughout the country.

Katharine believes her training as an actor and her practice as a therapist complement and inform each other. She is interested in the legacies we inherit from our families, the stories we tell ourselves about who we are, and how we may expand our understanding of self through meaningful exploration. How can we become awake and present to this moment of our lives? How may we rediscover a sense of joy and play, while also making space for our pain and losses? How may we become grounded as a self, even as we learn to be more compassionate and responsive to our loved ones? These are the kinds of questions that guide Katharine's practice.
